Malaybalay Celebrates 16th Charter Day
Anchored on the official slogan: “EVOLVE.INVOLVE.REVOLVE”, more than 2000 participants joined a grand parade along the main thoroughfare of our city followed by the city’s charter celebratory program held at the City Covered Court, Freedom Park, Barangay 4, last March 22. It is a commemoration of cityhood signifying its 16th anniversary of continued commitment to serve her people being a component city by virtue of Republic Act 8490.
1,500 participants run for City Fun Run
More than 1,500 participants ran the roads along the Sayre highway of Malaybalay City last March 9, 2014 dubbed as CHARTERUN. The challenging uphill route of the race was staged at City Covered Court Barangay 4.
It was a kickoff event in celebration of the 16th Charter Day on March 22, since Malaybalay became a component city by virtue of Republic Act 9480 signed by then President Fidel V. Ramos.
During the pre-race program, City Administrator Herculano S. Ronolo, delivered his welcome message in behalf of our local chief executive, “We have been fortunate that our city mayor is always supporting this running event ever since. I have been informed by the race organizer that this is so far the biggest fun run participated by so many runners here in our place.” He thanked the support of our runners and the city employees.
CDRRMO showcases rescue vehicles and equipment
City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) dedicated a blessing to their rescue vehicles and equipment during the regular monthly meeting together with the full council of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Committee (CDRRMC) held last February 26, 2014 at Bukidnon Diners, Casisang.
Mass Wedding on Valentine’s Day: Yes I do! Part II
Fifty couples from Malaybalay City said “Yes, I do” as they tied knots on Valentine’s Day at the Veranda, Casisang, this city. The mass wedding was made possible through the joint sponsorship and collaborative efforts between the City Government of Malaybalay and Pag-Ibig Fund. For the second time, the successful implementation of solemnizing marital vows was held, and dubbed again as “Libreng Kasalan: I do. I do.”
